A new U.S. Department of Labor policy may alter the way Montana’s independent contractors do business. Boiling it down – it’s a policy that redefines an independent contractor and is pressuring contractors to become employees of the company they do business with. But it’s being challenged. Among the challengers is a group called Fight for Freelancers; their co-founder, Debra Abrams Kaplan, and non-profit Pacific Legal Foundation attorney Wilson Freeman joined the program to explore the issue and the impact.
