Our seniors are being impacted by the pandemic in disproportioned numbers. Isolation, dependency, and vulnerability open doors for our elders to be neglected or abused.

AARP Montana President Al Ward along with University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Science Associate Director of Center for Rural Health for Indigenous Programs and Director of the National Indigenous Elder Justice Initiative Jacque Gray, PhD discuss this under-reported issue across Montana’s reservations and the entire state and what can be done individually and policy-wise to prevent this abuse.

I have a story that needs to be told. Due to stress issues, I am way behind on pursuing this. A year (+) ago I had contacted a journalist. She was interested in the story and had wanted to cover it but her editor wouldn’t allow. She told me to find a “City, County, Government Journalist.” I have yet to do so.
A newspaper owner said i could tell it in his paper via continous “letter to editor”.
APS ignored but now are ready to listen. (New Director in 2022)
Please help get this very wrong thing done to my mother, told.
It includes neglect, a lot perjury (proof), ethics violations, appointing a guardian mom had clearly stated she didn’t want as her guardian. A guy who tried committing suicide years ago, is on anti-depressants, physically and verbally assaulted his wives. (Afraid to turn him in. Duct tape, guns, broken bones. Restraining orders by other women…)
Sooo much to this and sooo much wrong at my mother’s expense!!
Please contact me. This will not be swept under the rug…as i plan on spending the rest of my life attempting to get some changes made.
(Surgery and recovery first but the stress of this has had a profound affect. Only way to get better there, is to get this ball a rollin’.
Thank you for reading, Lisa J.
