Plans are in the making for another large wind energy venture proposed for eastern Montana. Former State Senator Ric Holden, from Glendive, joins the program to size up the project and the concerns being voiced by area residents.
Heelstone Renewable Energy has unveiled plans to install between 50 and 70 wind turbines in the county in the coming years. This initiative would be in addition to the 42 turbines already planned by NextEra Energy. The proposed Dawson Wind Farm by Heelstone would span areas west of Glendive, near Interstate 94. Headquartered in North Carolina, Heelstone currently manages over 80 solar energy projects across the United States.
