Montana’s economy experienced many changes – both good and bad – throughout 2021, with the coronavirus showing no signs of stopping and impacting the workforce, drought and natural disasters taking their toll on local communities, over a billion federal dollars coming into the state through relief funding and a reformed tax code passing in the legislative session, just to name a few.

Today, former state legislator Russ Fagg steps in to host a discussion with former state Budget Director Kurt Alme  about his involvement in crafting Montana’s current budget, why he ultimately decided to step down from this position and what he has planned going forward.
