Montana Pre-teen Takes on Constitutional Ballot

Join us for the story of Nicole Bennett, a 12-year old from Red Lodge who is taking on a heavy task. She is organizing a constitutional ballot initiative for the 2024 election.

In Montana, the state Supreme Court sets the rules and has the governing authority over the Montana Bar, and thus, power and authority over nearly all the lawyers who present cases before it. Some see that as the proverbial fox guarding the hen house, and 12-year old Nicole Bennett is on a mission to re-establish the proper roles in government, and place that authority back in the hands of the legislature as it was prior to the 1972 constitution.
