In 2019, a tribal energy company purchased most of the assets of bankrupt Cloud Peak Energy, transferring ownership of Spring Creek mine in southeastern Montana. Navajo Transitional Energy Company executives Matt Babcock and Matthew Adams join us to discuss the significance of that transaction to Montana, and the challenges and opportunities for coal-based energy in a global economy and an energy-transitioning world.
We also hear from Montana House Majority Leader Sue Vinton in support of House Bill 245, a measure she’s sponsoring to increase trades education assistance and business training programs.
