In a ruling Monday (04/01), the Montana Supreme Court cleared the way for signature gathering on a constitutional ballot initiative legalizing abortion in Montana, by declaring it a “right.” The proposed initiative, by the group Montanans Securing Reproductive Rights, could also prevent Montana from prohibiting gender altering surgeries on minors. Derek Oestreicher of the Montana Family Foundation discusses Monday’s Supreme Court ruling, and takes us through some of the ballot language that he warns is remarkably vague and could have dramatic implications.
Why don’t we reinstate the Personhood Amendment of about 20 years ago, I really feel that because both Catholic Bishops and Jeff Lazloffey recommended against it because “we might lose at the Supreme Court”, that enough minds were changed and it failed to make the ballot.
Just my opinion.
