Behavioral Health Report Guides New Funding for Mental Wellness

The Montana legislature and Governor Gianforte approved new state funding in 2023 for better mental health awareness and outcomes. The Behavioral Health Systems for Future Generations bill (HB 872) is a $300 million commitment that created a commission to explore the problems and recommend actions. Just hours before the report was presented to the Governor, State Representative Mike Yakawich, a member of that commission, joined the program to discuss the issues our families and communities are facing, and some of the recommendations the commissioners presented to address the problems.
