Members of the Montana Freedom Caucus called for a special legislative session to address some emerging issues, specifically a significant rise in property taxes in light of the state’s decision to access it’s full 95mil school levy taxing authority. Cities and Counties are required to automatically limit their tax increases, but the state is not under that same restriction, according to the Montana Supreme Court.
