There’s an all-out war on weeds. In 1960, the state created the Montana Weed Control Association (MWCA) to coordinate the effort, and in 1985 the Montana Noxious Weed Trust Fund to provide more resources for the fight.
98-percent of Montana’s 92 million acres are essentially classified as either range land, crop land, or wildlands, so the effort to control weeds takes collaboration on many fronts.
Join Kelsey Miller, MWCA Executive Director, and county noxious weed coordinators Kellieann Sweeny (Ravalli County) and Amber Burch (Beaverhead County) in this episode of weed-whacking 101.
