James Olson spoke at the Montana Banker’s Association in Billings and shared his thoughts on the future of Putin’s War on Ukraine. The interview dives into what it was like being undercover and raising a family in Cold War Russia and Olson shares his predictions on how the war will end. Sure, we get to hear about some cool spy gadgets, too.

 

Olson is on the faculty of the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, where he teaches courses on intelligence and national security. He served his entire career in the CIA’s Directorate of Operations. His career highlights include serving as the chief of CIA counterintelligence at CIA headquarters and in overseas assignments in Moscow, Vienna, and Mexico City. Olson wrote the books “Fair Play – Moral Dilemmas of Spying” and “To Catch a spy: The art of counterintelligence.”
